  15. No sweat.

  30. Suggested slogans from wx-users:
  31. wxWidgets: The API for programmers who aren't sheep.
  32. (Robin Dunn)
  33. Better printed on a shirt:
  34. "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion,
  35. butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet,
  36. balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying,
  37. take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations,
  38. analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a
  39. tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
  40. Specialization is for insects."
  41. [Robert A. Heinlein]
  42. maybe stripped down to
  43. "Specialization is for insects."

  45. The Open-Source, Cross-Platform GUI Framework
  46. with Ten Years of Evolution Behind It
  47. I saw this changed to 'native UI' on the website, which is slightly more
  48. accurate but sounds less 'catchy' imho.
  49. .. and templates.
  50. Hmm. I might buy a mug that had, say, a wxLogo and "wxWidgets" (and
  51. maybe the website URL underneath in smaller type) on one side and
  52. "Specialization is for insects ... and templates" on the other.
  53. .. only if it held at leat a full half (imperial) pint, mind. Not
  54. one of those wussy 8.5 fl.oz. jobbies.
  55. That'd be a nice ice-breaker when working at a new client's site -
  56. people would be bound to stop and ask what it was all about!
  57. .. and how about a nice silk tie (US: necktie) with the logo on ...
  58. Oh, I forgot, we programmers don't wear ties.

  60. "I can't believe it's not native"

  62. "Because friends don't let friends use Win32".

  65. Have a photo of 3 babes wearing Linux, Windows and Mac Logo T-shirt with
  66. words at the bottom.
  67. "Why choose one when you can have 3?"

  79. <windows> OR <linux> OR <mac> ?
  80. <wxWidgets> is
  81. <windows> AND <linux> AND <mac>

  86. How about this for a t-shirt slogan?
  87. One API to rule them all, one API to hide them
  88. One API to bridge them all and in the compiler bind them.
  89. wxWidgets
  90. How about "and in the linker bind them"? That's where the local libraries
  91. get bound to the wxWidgets code anyway.

  100. Nice idea. But I wonder where you'll find some volunteer willing to
  101. have his face tattooed with win32 common controls ;-)
